Gratitude List & Thanksgiving Gifts

Each November I like to write a gratitude list to bring into focus all the things I feel grateful for. It’s easy to take for granted the people and things around us, Thanksgiving is a great time to do a gratitude inventory and express gratitude to those we love and appreciate. See video below.

  • 1. Family -Like most of us, family is my everything. I’m so grateful for the closeness I have with my family, the adventures we have together, and the love and support I can count on in my family. My husband, Adam, is truly my best friend. I can’t imagine my life without him. Although I try to show gratitude year round, like many married couples, I take things for granted. I like to try to focus on showing appreciation for the little things he does; taking out the garbage, mowing the lawn, being quick to help when I need it, tuning Abby’s race skis, taking the dog’s out way more than I do….
  • 2. I’m so grateful for the Gorgeously Aging community. I would have never dreamed that my YouTube channel would turn into such a source of support, inspiration, and kindness. It’s truly a life line for me, and I can’t even put into words how grateful I am. You are an extension of my family, and I love and appreciate each of you.
  • 3. I’m truly thankful for the lessons learned through the ugliness that has brought so much turbulence into the diy beauty community on YouTube. It’s through that chaos that I’ve made some forward progress I would have never made had I not been pushed to make it; an improved website, new forum in the works, and a renewed perseverance.
  • 4. Living in the mountains is something that I’m still pinching myself and feel incredibly grateful for every day. As a homebody and introvert, my home is my haven. Living here brings me so much peace. The natural beauty around us is something I can’t imagine ever taking for granted. Seeing Abby live out her dream of high level ski training is so rewarding to witness. Life still has it’s stress, of course, but to step outside and see the mountains brings me peace.

How to Be Our Most Beautiful Selves – Beauty School

The concept for beauty school came to me a while ago when I was talking to my daughters about how someone can be stunning physically but so ugly on the inside that the physical beauty fades as soon as you get to know them. I hope that Beauty School serves as a way to share my thoughts and nearly 50 years of wisdom. It took tons of mistakes and painful situations to learn some of these lessons, but I’m so glad the pain lead to growing and learning. I think it’s important for all of us to self audit, find our weak spots, and set goals to make progress in becoming our very best selves. Being truly beautiful from the inside out is a life long journey; we all stumble. It’s through serious self reflection and honesty, and being able to take responsibility for our flaws that we grow. (See video below)

Let’s age gorgeously together; from the inside out! Don’t forget to be good to yourself & others!

Love & Hugs,
